Abstract
376,891. Brush-holders. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and ORSETTICH, R., of General Electric Co. Witton, Birming. ham. May 18, 1931, No. 14655. [Class 35.] In a holder having brushes arranged in more than one row, the brushes have individual spring - biassing means pressing them on to the rotor, and the brushes and said spring means of one row are displaced laterally or staggered relatively to those of another row. Brushes 9 are arranged in two rows in boxes 1, 2 ; pressurespring fingers 10 with controls 11 press upon them, the arrangement being symmetrical. The fingers 10 pressing the brushes 9 of the row 1 may be arranged higher or lower than those pressing the brushes of the row 2. In a modification, two rows of four boxes are used, each row containing three full and one halfsized box. The half-sized boxes are arranged at opposite ends of the rows and may contain small brushes, may be left empty, or may be used for the insertion of brush pencils.
