Abstract

376,652. Pencil sharpeners. MUSSGœLLER, F., 8, Schiffstrasse, Erlangen, Germany. Jan. 11, 1932, No. 769. [Class 146 (iii).] In a sharpener for writing leads &c. without wooden casings two cutters are provided, one a notched blade for preliminary treatment of the lead &c., and the other a smooth blade for the final sharpening. In the form shown in the Figure, two conical openings 1, 2 are provided and into each projects a cutter blade 3, 4. The blade 3 is notched so as to produce ridges on the lead, and the conical opening 1 has its point portion, above a line 10, of a smaller vertical angle than the rest, so that the point of the lead revolves freely. The blade 4 has a continuous edge. The two cutters may be arranged on one conical opening, or the two blades may be part of one cutter, or only the notched cutter may be present.
