375,505. Step-by-step conveyers ; electroplating apparatus. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. May 22, 1931, No. 15175. Convention date, May 31, 1930. Addition to 298,184, [Class 78 (i), Conveyers &c.]. [Class 78 (i).] A conveyer for moving articles through an electroplating or other bath m comprises a horizontal bar d to which a circular movement in a vertical plane is imparted by a crank driven by a worm-wheel c and a bar d<1> to which is imparted a similar movement in opposite phase. On the bars d, d<1> are secured a series of pillars e, e<1> carrying tubes f, f<1> in which are mounted rods h, h<1>-provided at one end with pointed cams k, k<1>. The pointed cams k, k<1> are adapted to support V-shaped hooks n on the worksupports l which are thus carried forward in a series of curved paths by transfer from one cam to the next one on the bar of opposite phase. Electric connection is made to the rods h, h<1> by flexible strips i, il projecting through slots in the tubes f, f<1>. The pillars e, e<1> are made in two parts insulated from one another. Apertures o are provided in the supports l for cleaning purposes Baths m may be arranged on both sides of the conveyer. The supports l may be transferred from one bath to the next of a series by lever transfer mechanism of the kind described in Specification 336,386, [Class 78 (i), Conveyers &c.]. To enable one bath of a series to be skipped, a sloping runway is provided above the bath on which rollers p on the supports l are deposited by the transfer mechanism; the runway is so shaped as to carry the goods to one side of the conveyer bars below it, and is hinged for withdrawal when not required.
