Abstract
375,184. Treatment of bulbs &c. WEYER, V. DE, 42, Kerkstraat, Beverwijk, WEYER, H. J. DE, Romerkerkweg, BUGGENUM, J. M. VAN, 210, Rijksstraatweg, and BUGGENUM, T. H. VAN, 144, Hoflanderweg, all in Wijk-aan-Zee en Duin. both in Holland. Nov. 4, 1931, No. 30524. [Classes 6 (i) and 6 (ii).] In order to advance the flowering period of bulbs and like plants, a system of spaced tubes 3, 4 is provided, placed under the soil, the bulbs being planted between the tubes, and a refrigerating agent being forced through at a temperature of about 9‹ C. The tubes may be arranged in two layers 3, 4 one above the other, and the bulbs planted in carriers 7 placed between. The tubes may be connected as by flexible couplings 5 to a feed pipe 1 at one end and to an outlet pipe 2 at the other. The refrigerating agent may be water aspired out of a Norton tube and driven through the tubes by a pump 6. The tubes of the upper layer may be so placed that they may be readily disconnected and lifted.
