375,163. Lubricating, spinning, and twisting rings. GILLIGAN, G. H., 170, Peace Street, Providence, Rhode Island, U.S.A. Oct. 10, 1931, No. 28203. Convention date, Dec. 10, 1930. [Class 120 (ii).] Spinning or twisting rings 28, Fig. 3, are lubricated by a member 38 positioned in front of the traveller 29 and moved thereby and comprising a core 41, Fig. 5, of pliable metal strands &c. with fibres of cotton, wool, silk, textile filaments, &c. which may be felted &c. clamped by the convolutions of the core, and is impregnated with lubricant before or after application to the ring. The invention is applicable to horizontal, vertical, or bar types of traveller there being an opening such as 44 for the thread 19 in each type. Absorbent material may be omitted from the central portion of the member 38.
