Abstract
374,500. Junction boxes. INDIA RUBBER, GUTTA PERCHA, & TELEGRAPH WORKS CO., Ltd., Aldwych House, Aldwych, and LEARED, H., of India Rubber, Gutta Percha, & Telegraph Works Co., Silvertown, both in London. March 11, 1931, No. 7553. [Class 38 (i).] Terminal blocks 14 connected by rods 15 arranged eccentrically so as to cross one above the other, see Fig. 2, and enclosed in insulating housings 13, are employed in a junction box comprising a flat base 12 and a flanged and gapped cover 10. The space in the housings 13 is open to one side so that the terminals 14 and rods 15 can be slid into position. The number of binding screws in the terminals varies according to the number of cables 11 to be connected. A bonding ring 18 clamps the cable ends and has extensions 19 extending into the gaps in the cover that may be slit and are bent down to close or partly close any gaps not in use.
