Abstract
374,495. Hot-water bottles. COW & CO., Ltd., P. B., 46, Cheapside, and COOMBER, C. RENTON-, Factory Lane, Streatham Common, both in London. March 10, 1931, No. 7438. [Class 64 (ii).] A rubber hot-water bottle, whose neck and body 4 are moulded in one piece, is provided with circumferential corrugations 3 on the inner surface of the neck, and the stopper plug 1 is provided with corresponding corrugations 2, rubber or other adhesive being used to complete the joint. Alternatively, the projections and recesses may be of square, triangular or dovetail section, and may be formed on the neck or the plug. In another form, Fig. 8, the plug surface is plain, and it is retained in a channel in the neck 4 formed between two flanges 10. The outer surface of the plug may alternatively be formed with one or more steps fitting into corresponding grooves in the neck or vice versa. In other forms, the outer corrugated or like surface of the plug may be conical instead of cylindrical, and in any form the contacting surfaces may be roughened. Specification 255,678, [Class 64 (ii), Heating systems &c.], is referred to. According to the Provisional Specification, the joint may be strengthened by binding round the outside of the neck and covering the binding with rubber or tape.
