Abstract

373,720. Lubricating rolling mills. HENDERSON, L., 7, St. Bernard's Road, Olton, Warwickshire. April 13, 1931, No. 10756. [Class 12 (iii).] A motor - driven pump 31 circulates oil from a sump 28 through two circuits 32, 33, Fig. 6, to the bearings 4 on each side of a rolling mill, the bearings being bored to allow oil to ooze from the conduits and being connected by flexible pipes 38 to allow for their adjustment. Branch conduits lead oil to the worm wheel 30 &c. which splashes enough oil for the chains driving the rolls. A tray 42 catches oil dripping from the open ends of the conduits and leads it to the sump 28.
