[Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv).] A lamp for colour lighting comprises transparent partitions 15, 17, 19 forming compartments 21, 23 into and out of which coloured liquids can be pumped. The pump is rotary or may consist of two semicylindrical chambers 11, 13 in which blade plungers are oscillated, conduits leading from the chambers 11, 13 to the compartments 21, 23. The plungers are actuated from an electric motor 71 by worm and cam gearing 81. The compartment 21 contains glass elements 25, 27, 29 to show up against the surrounding liquid, and lamps 41, 43 backed by reflectors 45, 47, and a diffusing screen 55 may be disposed in front thereof. A ball valve may be provided at the bottom of each chamber 11, 13 to admit air during the rise of the plungers, and a one-way passage mav extend from the bottom of each chamber to the top thereof or to the top of the corresponding compartment 21, 23 to dispose of liquid which leaks past the plungers. The lamps 41, 43 may be multi-coloured and be controlled by multiple-way switches, and coloured glass screens may be introduced. The compartment tops are fitted with a vent 24.
