Abstract
372,533. Gramophone casings. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Marconi House, Strand, London.- (Assignees of Wolff, I.; Greenleigh Apts.; Merchantville, New Jersey, U.S.A.) April 20, 1931, No. 11700. Convention date, April 18, 1930. [Class 40 (ii).] Cabinet resonance in a loud-speaker or gramophone is reduced or eliminated by providing the cabinet with one or more resonators, each of which is tuned within the frequency range within which the cabinet is normally resonant and operable when resonating to develop a relatively low-pressure region within the cabinet where a relatively high-pressure region would otherwise be developed by the diaphragm. The figure shows a cabinet 10 containing a radio loud-speaker 12, 13 and formed with resonators 19, 25 which communicate with the interior of the cabinet via the opening 20a in the tubular member 20 and the opening 26 respectively.
