Abstract
371,419. Thermionic valves. SCHWITZER, A. and ERBER, B., (trading as GANZ & CO., G.), 45, Van der Nullgasse, Vienna. Oct. 14, 1930, No. 30746. Convention date, July 3. [Class 39 (i).] In an indirectly heated tubular cathode a, the heating filament b consists of wire less than À1 mm. diameter wound into a helix which is in turn disposed as a zig-zag or the like of at least two sections, the heater wire being insulated from the cathode by solid insulation c which is in effective contact with both the heater and the cathode. The heater is designed to be connected to supply mains having a voltage of 100 or more. An auxiliary heater f may be provided to be supplied at low voltage for preliminary ageing purposes, and if required this auxiliary heater may render the cathode suitable for operation on high and low voltages. The cathode may be formed by a coiled wire which can then act as the auxiliary heater. Specifications 243,868, 278,787, 297,966, 320,849, 326,617, and 335,573, [all in Class 39 (i), Electric lamps, Arc &c.], are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 326,617 and 335,573, [both in Class 39 (i), Electric lamps, Arc &c.].
