Abstract

371,140. :Hinges. JEWSBURY & CO., Ltd., J. and JEWSBURY, J., Soho Works, Western Road, Spring Hill, Birmingham. May 26, 1931, No. 9198. [Class 65 (ii).] In a book-form metal savings box partially covered with fabric which provides the normal hinging of the lid to the body of the box, interengaging quadrant slots and pegs on the lid and body prevent tearing strain on the fabric at the hinge. Fabric i which hinges the lid g to the back wall c of the box is reinforced at the hinge portion h by slotted metal quadrants g<2> secured to or formed integrally with the lid, each slot being. engaged by a peg or pin c<2> formed on a forward extension of the back wall c. The quadrants may be formed on the back wall c and the pegs on the lid g.
