Abstract
370,369. Valve amplifying circuits. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Oct. 1, 1930, No. 29390. Convention date, Nov. 23, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 40 (v).] An amplifying telephone set for use by the partially deaf has a filter interposed in the circuit for emphasizing sounds in a certain range of frequency. As shown in Fig. 1, the input transformer 2 interposed between the microphone M and the first valve 3 has its secondary shunted by a condenser 8 to accentuate tones in the neighbourhood of the resonant frequency. The condenser 8 may be removable and interchangeable to suit varied defects in hearing. A rheostat 9 shunted across the transformer primary permits adjustment of the volume of sound heard in the telephone instrument T. The valve set may be housed in an envelope 11, Fig. 2, of suitable shape for the pocket, and with leads extending to the microphone 15, telephone 16, and battery 17.
