Abstract

370,131. Hair-waving appliances; drying-appliances for the hair. GEYMANN, G. G., 90, High Road, Tottenham, London. Feb. 24, 1931, No. 5709. [Class 131.] A device for facilitating the setting of the hair after waving comprises a cape-shaped piece of material A having a metal spring B inserted in the collar part, elastic bands C provided with a buckle or press-buttons being attached to the ends of the spring. Pockets D each containing a piece of stiffened material E attached by a tape F, are provided at the sides of the collar part. In use, the device is slipped on the head with the spring B extending from the back of the neck to the temples, the pieces E are pulled up to cover the ears, and the bands C are secured across the forehead. The capeshaped portion A then forms a foundation on which to do the setting, and prevents liquid from running down the neck. During the subsequent drying, the device protects the face, neck and ears from hot air.
