Abstract
370,009. Collecting rubber and like continuous threads. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., 32, Osnaburgh Street, London, ANODE RUBBER CO., Ltd., 10, Lefebvre Street, St. Peter's Port, Guernsey, MURPHY, E. A. and GORHAM, W. G., of Dunlop Rubber Co., Fort Dunlop, Erdington, Birmingham. Jan. 1, 1931, No. 64. [Class 120 (iii).] Material in continuous lengths (e.g. rubber threads or tubes) is collected on a rotating tray 15, the speed of which is varied non- recurrently to spread the material fairly uniformly over the tray. As shown, the friction wheel 3 between which and the tray there is a certain amount of slip, provided for example by varying the contour of the under surface of the tray, is reciprocated with the aid of a key 9 engaging an endless helical groove in the shaft 4. Instead of providing slip between the wheel 3 and the tray, a clutch into which slip is periodically introduced may be provided. Specification 311,844, [Class 70, Indiarubber &c.], is referred to.
