369,775. Safety razors. WATTS (SHEFFIELD & LONDON) Ltd., J. and WATTS, J. R., Lambert Street, Sheffield. May 2, 1931, No. 12970. Addition to 306,703, [Class 30, Cutlery]. [Class 30.] In a safety razor of the kind described in the parent Specification wherein the handle 16 is pivoted to the blade holder 12 and provided with means for retaining it at a desired angle to t h e blade 11, the blade is clamped by a T-headed stem 19, the head 20 of which is pushed axially against the pressure of a spring 26 through a slot 22 in the holder and blade and given a partial turn to bridge the slot and clamp to blade or its backing, the means for operating the stem comprising a knurled riveted finger grip 21 between the blade holder and the handle pivot 14. A tubular extension 25 on the finger-piece 21 co-operates with a hollow boss 23 attached to the blade-holder 12 to form a guide for the stem 19. One or both sides of the clamping head 20 or of the blade or of both may be bevelled so that rotary movement of the stem 19 automatically initiates its axial movement. The free ends 18 of the V-shaped handle pivot 14 are grooved to be sprung into apertures 17 in the blade holder and blade. The handle pivot has flats 28 engaged, to retain the handle in an adjusted position, by an adjustably spring-loaded plunger 29.
