Abstract

369,310. Rail-or-road vehicles. HUTCHINGS, C. E., 3A, Culmington Road, Ealing, London.-(Hutchings, C. A.; Quinta Elisa, Los Caobos, Caracas, Venezuela, South America.) Jan. 13, 1931, No. 1136. [Class 108 (ii).] In a vehicle for running on rails or roads, two rail wheels B mounted on an axle C are adapted to be brought into engagement with, and subsequently to lift the usual road steering- wheels clear of, the track by means of pinionoperated quadrants F pivoted on the vehicle frame. The quadrants carry the rail-wheel axle C which is guided in arcuate slots in horn plates D. The pinions are mounted on a shaft G rotatable by hand. The rear axle of the vehicle is provided with two double-tyred wheels, the outer tyre of each being pneumatic and the inner being rail tyres of smaller diameter. Dimensions are given in both the Provisional and Complete Specifications.
