Abstract

368,672. Resilient posts. AKT.-GES. METZELER & CO., 131, Westendstrasse, Munich, Germany. Oct. 1, 1931, No. 27363. Convention date, Oct. 1, 1930. [Class 20 (i).] A street pillar or post for use as a traffic barrier is constructed wholly or in part of rubber or rubber substitute so that it will give on impact and recover its position after impact. The post may be of solid rubber 1 or hollow rubber 9 or may be composite, of wood and rubber, and hollow posts may be reinforced by helical coils 13. The post may fit over a stud 8 projecting from the ground or be provided with projections 11 to engage grooves 10 in a socket; or a clamping ring 7 may be used to secure the post to the ground. The post may be fitted with an electric lamp or with reflector signs.
