Abstract

368,519. Clips. SANDERCOCK, W., Newbridge, Callington, Cornwall. March 5, 1931, No. 6906. [Class 44.] A clip particularly suitable for securing overlapping corrugated iron sheets and tarpaulins as covers for ricks and temporary structures comprises a sheet-metal body bent to provide a pair of jaws 3, 4 of unequal length, the sides 5 of the shorter jaw being bent down to provide bearings for an eccentrically mounted cylinder 8 with operating handle 9, adapted to grip the overlapping edges of the sheets against the longer jaw 3, which may, as shown, be curved transversely to fit the corrugations in the iron sheet. Jaw 4 is provided with a stamped-out hook 10, and jaw 3 with a stamped-out socket 13 by which a pair of clips, Fig. 4, may be connected together back to back. Alternatively the clips may have rings or eyes to receive links or chains, by which a pair of clips may be connected.
