Abstract
367,664. Lubricating percussive drills. CHICAGO PNEUMATIC TOOL CO., 6, East 44th Street, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Nell, G. M. ; 6201, 2nd Boulevard, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.) May 29,1931, No. 15734. Convention date, July 15,1930. [Class 12 (ii).]' A bush 9a inserted in the back head of a percussive drill forms an annular chamber 14a therein containing lubricant. When the tool is working pressure fluid from the throttle valve 32 enters the lubricant chamber through channels 32a, 28 and forces oil through the restricted passage 31a into the twist mechanism and thence through a small space 34, 35 into the pressure fluid in channel 36. Lubricant is thus supplied to the forward end of the tool. Oil also passes through the passage 33. When the throttle is closed the pressure in chamber 14a is relieved.
