366,464. Welding parts of dynamos. SCOTT, W. H., MOSSAY, P. A. H., and SCOTT, G. J., Gothic Works, Norwich. Sept. 30, 1930, Nos. 29317 and 37812. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv).] In a stator core, for a dynamo-electric machine annular laminµ are consolidated in pack formation and are secured together by bars welded to the pack or/and end-rings. In the form shown, the toothed laminµ 1 with their end-rings 18, 20 are compressed between the rings 4, 14 of a mandrel 2, Fig. 1, and a series of bars 22, Fig. 7, are welded to the end-rings and laminae. The core, after winding, is assembled on an expanding mandrel in an assembly jig, Fig. 8, and bars 39 are supported between dummy endplates 34 and welded to the core. Rings 42, to which the webs 46 of the feet are welded, are welded to the bars 39, and an outer casing may also be welded to these bars. The bars 22 may be omitted and the bars 39 are then used to support the laminµ in addition to the external parts.
