Convention date, July 11, 1930. [Class 100 (iv).] Relay type-lever actions.-In a telegraphic page-printer, the selector combs 36- admit a selected pull-bar 39 which drops into their combination of slots under the influence of spring 40. Its hook 41 is thus brought into the path of striker-bail 42, which drags it to the right so as to operate a type-lever 43 when the printing-bail 63, which engages the strikerbail 42 at 62, 70, 70, is pulled clockwise by a spring, which if is permitted to do by the restoring-lever 69' when' the latter is moved clockwise under the control of cam 74. The force with which the type-levers strike the platen can be adjusted, for carbon-copying or other purposes, by adjustment of the tripoff bail 65 which, at a given instant, disengages the hook 41 from the striker-bail 42. The type-lever finishes its stroke by momentum, so that the force of the blow depends on the interval which the trip-off bail 65 takes effect.
