Abstract
365,745. Plates, trays, &c. HONEY, C. W., 75, Edith Road, West Kensington, London. Dec. 22, 1930, No. 38478. [Class 128.] Plates, trays, basins, &c. are completely covered on both sides with a number of layers or envelopes of paper which is coated with a non-porous substance such as cellulose, said layers being easily discarded to provide a clean outer surface to the plate &c. The layers may be in the form of envelopes which are formed by folding a sheet of paper, Fig. 1, and fastening it by a gummed edge a which may have perforations b to facilitate discarding. Alternatively each layer is formed from a top portion c, Fig. 4, which has its edge pleated or cut to fit over the edge of the plate &c., a bottom circular portion d, and a gummed strip e ending in a tab f and joining the portions.c, d together. The edge of the portion d may also be gummed and the strip e dispensed with. When the layers are in position the whole is stamped to form the contour of a plate &c. Basins and other deep vessels are covered by discs of treated paper which are pleated or have V-shaped sections cut out to form a hollow vessel. The inner layers are turned over the rim of the vessel and are perforated near the rim for discarding.
