365,684. Railway light signals. SIEMENS & GENERAL ELECTRIC RAILWAY SIGNAL CO., Ltd., Caxton House, Tothill Street, and AUSTIN, T.., Central House, Kingsway, both in London. Nov. 6, 1930, No. 33409. Draivings to Specification. [Class 105.] A light signal for railway signalling, indicating the route or platform to the driver of a train, or for road traffic signalling comprises a single luminous electric discharge tube adapted to be moved from one setting to another or two or more such tubes in different fixed settings or of different geometrical form and selectively illuminated to give different signal indications. The tubes are carried on a .metal plate and protected by a glass cover with a gauze screen to mask the background. The selecting switch and a transformer to give the required high voltage are housed at the 'back of the plate ; a weatherproof cover-plate with ventilating holes permits access thereto. The tubes may give light of the same or of different colour.
