364,898. Hair-waving appliances. GRIESS, E., 282, Glossop Road, Sheffield. Feb. 17, 1931, No. 4943. [Class 131.] In hair-waving devices of the kind in which a receptacle containing a treating preparation is placed over the curler on which the hair is wound, heat being then applied to cause vapour to be evolved from the preparation and to act upon the hair, the container comprises two concentric perforated cylinders b, c, the outer one having considerably larger perforations than the inner one. The preparation may be in the form of a paste, in which case the ends of the annular space between the cylinders are left open and the paste is pressed through the openings in the outer cylinder. When a liquid preparation is used, the ends of the annular space between the cylinders are closed and the space is filled with absorbent. In use, the hair, wound on a curler and covered with a wrapping of paper or the like, is placed in the container, which is then wrapped in a cover of liquidproof paper and placed in an electric heater.
