364,195. Paper tubes and like yarn holders. TEXTILE PAPER TUBE CO., Ltd., Oakwood Mills, Romiley, and CARVER, T. A. B., Llongdin, Cheadle Hulme, both in Cheshire. Oct. 9, 1930, No. 30216. [Class 120 (iii).] Paper pirn tubes, cop and cheese tubes, cones and like yarn holders formed of paper are covered partially or completely with a flexible covering of metallic foil such as tin, copper or aluminium foil, by wrapping a strip of foil to the desired number of convolutions, such foil being treated with a suitable adhesive. The exterior of the holder may be coated partially or completely, and the interior may be coated as well, e.g. by winding the foil on a mandrel, coating with adhesive, winding on the desired strip of paper, and then another piece of foil whose ends project and are forced into the bore of the tube. Any strong glue or adhesive or mixture thereof is suitable for attaching the foil, but it should preferably be impervious to liquid or steam.
