363,816. Guiding kinematograph films. PROJECTOR AKT.-GES., 17, Lowenstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. Dec. 12, 1930, No. 37552. Convention date, Dec. 13, 1929. [Class 98 (ii).] A method of guiding or conveying strips of kinematograph film or the like, one surface of which is easily injured, for substantial distances substantially free from contact of the film surfaces with solid guiding means, comprises the production of a combined d blowing and suction action by a current of air at the side of the film opposite to the easily injured surface. As shown, both sides of the film 2 are subjected to the blowing action of the tubes 1. Deflecting plates 4 arranged on the right hand blowing tubes produce a sucking action and the film is deflected towards, but preferably not against, the plates 4. U-shaped metal guides 3 prevent sidewise displacement of the film.
