[Class 12 (i).] The spindle of an archimedean screw fan 1 is hollow and has, at its extremities, two bearing blocks 9, 11 forced by a spring 8 against pivots 3, 4 carried by cross-pieces 6, 5. The block 9 is pinned rigidly to the spindle, whereas the block 11 is slotted to allow it to move relatively to its pin 13.
