Abstract

362,283. Coffee infusers. CLARKE, R. A.. 50, Hawkesfield Road, Forest Hill, London. March 17, 1931, No. 8250. [Class 129.] An infuser of the type in which upper and lower vessels are supported by a stand, has the upright part 6 of the stand made hollow so that the upper vessel 2 may be held therein as shown by the dotted lines when not in use. The infusion is made by boiling water in the lower vessel 1 by a spirit lamp or the like placed in the recess 7a of the base 7 of the stand. The steam pressure forces the water into upper vessel 2 in which the coffee grounds are placed and the infusion drips back into the vessel 1 through a filter 14. A cylindrical vessel 8 is placed inside the hollow stand 6 to catch the drips from the vessel 2. A container 10 for methylated spirit may be housed in the lower part of the stand.
