Abstract

361,896. Printing on roads &c. IMREI, S., 24, Dr. Kasapinovica ulica, Pancevo, Jugo-Slavia. Aug. 21, 1930, No. 25005. [Class 100 (ii).] Apparatus for printing advertisements on pavements, roads, or walls comprises a printing-roller mounted in a frame and supplied with ink by a hollow inking-roller resting on the printing-roller, and a brush mounted on the frame and adapted to sweep the pavement &c. in advance of the printing- roller. In one form, Fig. 3, the printing-roller 4 and brush 8 are mounted in a frame 1 having a handle 2 and the types &c. carried by the roller 4 are inked by a hollow perforated roller 6 covered with felt. The shaft 7 of the roller 6 engages in slots in the frame 1 so that this roller rests by gravity upon the roller 4. The roller 4 may be provided with a rubber sleeve on which the design or text is moulded, or as shown, may be provided with ribs 9 to receive separate types or type-bars 10, Fig. 4, resiliently supported by leaf springs 11 pressed outwardly by spiral or leaf springs 12. The ribs 9 may be of wedge form, the spaces between being of rectangular or trapezoidal section. In another form of roller 4, the types are arranged circumferentially of the roller. The apparatus may be mounted on a motor car, means being provided for raising and lowering it out of and into operative position.
