Abstract

360,775. Ropes. LE COCQ, G. L., Chateauneuf-sur-Loire, Loiret, France. Feb. 25, 1931, No. 5966. [Class 109.] A cable for use in suspension bridges &c. comprises a number of strands 1 arranged in parallel superposed layers so as to form a rectangular bundle clamped together by steel cable clips. The strands are preferably secured in the clips 4 by wedges 10, each of which is inserted between a packing- piece 9 and a key 7. The clip may be of cast steel or rolled steel. The interstices between the strands are filled with preservative compound.
