Abstract
360,544. Hygrometric apparatus. LIMBRICK, C. B., 311, South Brodie Street, Fort William, Ontario, Canada. Sept. 1, 1930, No. 26080. Convention date, Sept. 9, 1929. [Class 97 (iii).] The moisture content of grain or other material is measured on a current meter in the anode circuit of a non-oscillating thermionic tube, the grid and filament connections being made to electrodes in the grain &c. container. Variable resistances are provided in the anode and grid circuits. The container A is fed from a hopper 10, feed, cut-off, and discharge slides 11, 12, 13 being provided. The wall of the container and an insulated member 14 form the electrodes. The meter C is standardized by shunting a resistance 32 across the container electrodes, and adjusting the resistances 20, 29. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also a further circuit arrangement having switches and a meter for checking the filament and anode voltages, and the testing of wood with platinum electrodes is mentioned. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
