Abstract
Dithiocarbamates are manufactured by the action of carbon disulphide on primary or secondary amines which have been emulsified in water by means of water soluble emulsifying agents, such as soaps or alkali metal salts of alkylated naphthalene sulphonic acids. In examples, the process is applied to the production, from carbon disulphide and the corresponding amines, of: (1) the dibutylamine salt of dibutyldithiocarbamic acid; (2) the dicyclohexylamine salt of dicyclohexyldithiocarbamic acid; (3) the dibenzylamine salt of dibenzyldithiocarbamic acid.
