[Class 125 (iii).] In a bottle &c. closure of the kind in which the normal bottle opening is disposed within a cover provided with a plurality of rings which together form a permutation &c. lock, there is provided a tubular sleeve to be passed over the lip of the bottle and secured to the upper portion of the neck by clamping means, the sleeve being arranged to engage the locking device on the cover independently of the lip of the bottle. The tubular sleeve member 10 is adapted to be attached to the bottle neck by a screw 17 which passes through the resilient lugs 12, 13. The top portion of the member 10 is screwthreaded at 19 for engagement with a screwed cap 20 fitted with a washer 21. The lower portion of the member 10 is formed with a flanged projection 24 above which is a shoulder upon which seats the member 26 of a combination or permutation lock. The flange 31 of the member 26 supports channel shaped ring 28 and an angle shaped ring 32 separately rotatable, which are held against motion in an axial direction by the member 34 riveted to the member 26 at-35. The members 26, 28, 32 are each slotted at one side to pass over the projecting lugs 12, 13, and on separate partial revolution are each locked by the same. In a modification, the member 10 is formed as a resilient ring, a stud at one end being adapted to engage with one of a series of holes in the other end, to allow of fitting to different sized bottles, a set screw and guard keeping the member in place and replacing the members 12, 13, above. The inner flange of the ring 28 and the inner portion 33 of the ring 32 are preferably formed in one plane, so that it is impossible to feel the position of the gap by separate revolution of those rings.
