Abstract

358,047. Composite building blocks or slabs. WALKER, F. T., 27, Derbyshire Lane, Sheffield. July 1, 1930, No. 19958. [Class 87 (i).] Wet concrete is pressed in a mould to produce a porous base a to which is then applied on one or more faces a layer d of the same or different material which is rendered impervious by passing it under a revolving cylinder whose line of contact is moving in a direction opposite to the facing layer. The facing layer may consist of the artificial stone composition described in Specification 246,202, [Class 22, Cements &c.], and the compressing and rolling may be performed by the apparatus described in Specification 337,074, [Class 87 (ii), Moulding plastic &c. substances]. The face of the base may be of dovetail or other suitable shape b to key with the applied layer. Holes e may be provided for tiebars.
