Abstract
357,815. Train control systems. GASPAR, M. P., 70, Rua Vieira Fazendo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Oct. 21, 1930, No. 31651. [Class 105.] A train contact 8 displaces a pivoted arm 7, 9 which is then held, as shown in Fig. 3, by a pawl 10 in a position to break an elec. tric circuit to permit the movement, under the action of a spring 17, of a rearward track abutment 4 to a position in which it would engage a brakeoperating contact 3 on a following train. The pivoted arms 7 and the track abutments 4 are carried on posts 6, 5 on opposite sides of the track. The pivoted arm 7, 9 in its operated position closes a contact 18 to energize a magnet corresponding to magnet 20 which releases the pawl 10 from a rearward pivoted arm which then returns to normal and therefore closes its contact 13 and so withdraws to the inoperative position, by means of a magnet 14, the associated track abutment.
