[Class 97 (i).] A device for use in reading print &c. comprises an opaque frame having a narrow rectangular aperture in which is fitted a piano-cylindrical lens with its plane surface flush with the flat undersurface of the frame which rests on the matter to be read. The aperture restricts the field of view to a narrow band lying between two parallel dark bands of greater width. The device is intended to be used by persons suffering from incipient cataract, glaucoma, &c.
