[Class 79 (v).] In a fender for motor vehicles of the kind comprising a frame faced with antifriction rollers, the frame is divided into two pivotally-connected parts a, b, each connected to a double-armed lever f by an arm e, e<1>, the levers f being arranged one above the other and pivoted to the front axle h of the vehicle and each lever having a slot k, whereby it cooperates with a pin l in the connecting-rod m of the steering-gear, so that when one of the parts a, b encounters an obstacle and is deflected, the vehicle is steered away from the obstacle. The parts a, b are provided on their rear faces with rollers n to prevent the parts moving into contact with the road wheels.
