Abstract

356,552. Ear-caps. STRONG, G. H. W., 17, High Street, King's Heath, Birmingham. Oct. 27, 1930, No. 32150. [Class 63.] An ear screen, particularly for aeronauts and motor cyclists, comprises a shell-like member adapted to have a bearing upon the side of the head encircling the ear, a cavitous part adapted to contain the ear, a closure portion on the forward side of the ear, an open portion at the rearward side of the ear, and a curved or inclined yieldable flange d at the upper part of the device for securing the device in position. The device may be of transparent celluloid, aluminium, or papier mÔchÚ. The flange b lies against the side of the face in front of the ear. The flange d has a Z-shaped opening e with which an elastic band such as that employed on goggles may be laterally engaged to secure the ear screens in position.
