Abstract

A fertilizer, insecticide and weed-killer consists of an intimate mixture of limerock and sulphur with small proportions of insoluble manganese, iron, copper, zinc and arsenic minerals, oxides or other compounds, which are capable of being rendered soluble and available for plant life by the reaction products of the limerock and sulphur. The limerock used may contain small amounts of magnesium carbonate in addition to calcium carbonate. Magnesium carbonate and potassium iodide may be added to the composition. Pyrolusite, iron pyrites, copper pyrites, zinc-blende and arsenopyrite are mentioned as suitable ingredients.ALSO:A fertilizer, insecticide, and weed-killer consists of an intimate mixture of lime-rock and sulphur with small proportions of insoluble manganese, iron, copper, zinc and arsenic minerals, oxides or other compounds, which are capable of being rendered soluble and available for plant life by the reaction products of the lime rock and sulphur. The lime rock used may contain small amounts of magnesium carbonate in addition to calcium carbonate. Magnesium carbonate and potassium iodide may be added to the composition. Pyrolusite, iron pyrites, copper pyrites, zinc-blende, and arsenopyrite are mentioned as suitable ingredients.
