Abstract
356,067. Display cards. ROBINSON, J. B., Wheat Bridge Mills, Wheat Bridge Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Dec. 23, 1930, No. 38660. [Class 3 (ii).] In a card for displaying cylindrical or other containers dished at one or both ends, flaps are formed by cutting the card and are bent back to form a recess into which the container fits, the flaps engaging the dished ends. As shown in Fig. 1, four flaps are formed by a vertical cut 11 and two transverse cuts 12, 13: the part above the top cut is inserted into the dished top of the container, the flap 54 is bent back at 53 to engage the dished bottom, and the flaps 16, 17 are bent back at 14, 15 respectively to engage frictionally with the sides of the container. If desired, the cut 13 may be made shorter, and the creases 14, 15 tapered upwards, so that the container is held in an inclined position. Fig. 5 shows a modification for use with shallow containers, the flaps being formed by two intersecting cuts, straight or curved. If desired, the side flaps may be omitted, as may either one of the end-engaging flaps if only one end of the container is dished. Where a large number of recesses are formed on a single card, these are preferably arranged in staggered formation for greater strength.
