355,996. Domestic fenders. BULLOCK, J. W., 76, Belmont Row, Birmingham. Oct. 6, 1930, No. 29775. [Class 126.] A fender or curb comprises an outer or front portion 1 of wood with a heat-protective covering formed by a metal plate 3 having angularly-bent parts or flanges 5, 6 engaging grooves in the part 1. In the form shown the plate 3 is of angular section, having a downturned flange 5 engaging a groove in the top of the front member and a flange 6 which is sprung into a groove in the rear face. Reinforcing members 11, extending between a groove 12 in the back of the front member and the angle of the member 3 may be provided. The airspace between the members 1, 3 assists in keeping the former cool. According to the Provisional Specification, triangular distance-pieces are secured to the rear face of the member 1, the member 3 being sprung over them so as to be in contact with their edges.
