The rabbet at each bonnet or cowl is formed by bending the metal thereof back on itself at b and then inwardly to form a vertical flange b<1>. Several bars with their end pillars may be cast in one piece, and a dowel a<3> on each pillar may enter a recess a' in the pillar above. The pillars of the sets may also be housed in rabbets e<4> formed by bending, back the sides of an intermediate sheet metal stanchion E and are secured therein by a vertical strip F screwed at g<1> into bosses g of'an ornamental strip G fitting in holes in the stanchion.
