Abstract
353,914. Domestic grates. JONES, R. W. WESTON-, 8, Woodhall Avenue, Rudheath Avenue, Withington, Manchester. March 26, 1930, Nos. 9600 and 32445. [Class 126.] A fitting for a grate having a fall-bar, which enables the fall-bar to be held in an inclined position to increase the capacity of the grate, and at the same time gives the appearance of a barless grate, comprises a bar h extending across the front of the grate and having rearwardly-projecting arms m at the ends by which it is attached to the sides of the grate. A ledge or projections on the rear side of the bar retain the fall-bar d, when inclined, with its front edge behind the bar. The apertures in the fall-bar may be covered by a plate n applied to the front or rear face, the form shown having a curved lower part resting on the front bar c of the grate and being retained in front of the fall-bar by projections o engaging behind the bar h. Holes, or notches s in the lower edge, may be provided in the plate n for the passage of air.
