Abstract
Therapeutically valuable bismuth salts, which are readily soluble in fatty oils, are obtained by causing bismuth oxide or hydroxide to react with an acid of the formula <FORM:0353539/III/1> where R1 and R2 represent similar or dissimilar aliphatic or carbocyclic radicles. Alternatively a salt of the acid may be used with a bismuth salt such as the nitrate. The preparation of bismuth salts of phenylethylacetic acid, phenylbutylacetic acid, diethylacetic acid, and cyclohexenylethylacetic acid is described.ALSO:Therapeutically valuable bismuth salts, which are readily soluble in fatty oils, are obtained by causing bismuth oxide or hydroxide to react with an acid of the formula <FORM:0353539/VI/1> where R1 and R2 represent similar or dissimilar aliphatic or carbocyclic radicles. Alternatively, a salt of the acid may be used with a bismuth salt such as the nitrate. The preparation of bismuth salts of phenylethylacetic acid, phenylbutylacetic acid, diethylacetic acid, and cyclohexenylethylacetic acid is described.
