[Class 60.] Round holes, enlarging and treing.-Apparatus for grinding cylinders internally consists of a body 1 having slidable radially therein two sets of pins 20, 21 fitting in bars 22, which support grinding- stones 26, 27. The inner ends of the pins are engaged by cones 32, 33 with an interposed spring 39 and movable axially, to give radial movement to the stones, by a rod 34 screwing into the cone 32 and pinned to a sleeve 37 engaging the cone 33; the rod is rotated by a square shaft 40, which may be turned during the operation of the apparatus and loosely engages a sleeve 74 loosely pinned at 75 to the rod 34 and the sleeve 37. The bars 22 are pressed inwardly by springs 28, 29 engaging pins 30, 31 on the bars. The stones are mounted by solder &c. in holders 42 carried by pins 44 slidably adjustable, for example, to take up wear of the stones, in the bars 22 and positioned by spacing washers 47 and screws 46. The body 1 has connected thereto a tubular neck 4 provided with bayonet slots 11, 12 to receive coupling pins 10 on a driving shaft 9, and a spring-pressed locking pin 14, withdrawable by a finger-piece 17, serves to prevent disengagement of the coupling. In operation, the tool is rotated and reciprocated axially.
