Abstract

352,256. Wire or cable reels. KEI. ZER & CO., Ltd., L. and LINN, T. G., 66, St. Anne Street, Liverpool. July 11, 1930, No. 20975. [Class 99 (ii).] A wire or cable reel comprises a hollow hub 6 and end flanges 14 held together by channel-shaped &c. crosspieces 7 which are formed at each end with a shoulder 10 and one or more projecting prongs 9, 9a. The shoulders abut against the inner side of the end flanges, while the prongs are inserted through slots in the said flanges and are clutched against the outer side thereof. The ends of the hub may be closed by discs or by bosses on the flanges, and the latter may be formed with additional sets of slots 13 at varying distances from the centres thereof so that hubs of different sizes may be used. The hub is preferably made of cardboard and the flanges of plywood.
