Abstract
351,338. Trave for horse-shoeing. MORIN, M., Secondigny, Deux SÞvres, France. Sept. 12, 1930, No. 27252. [Class 81 (ii).] A trave for horse-shoeing comprises an overhead beam 1 which may be fixed to or pivoted on a support such as a wall, and a crupper post 3 which may also be fixed or movable in a horizontal slide. This post carries a vertical slide 6 in which moves a block 7 carrying a rest 8 for the back feet, and a V-shaped rest 9 in the holes 10 of which may be adjusted the body rods 11, which hold the horse so that the crupper comes in contact with the stay board 12. The other ends of the rods are held by a support 15 in which they are adjustable. The feet may be fastened to rings 17 movable in a frame 18, A chain 19 with its anchoring point adjustable between the four legs carries a ring 20 through which a rope 21 with an eye is passed, running under the rods, around the neck, and knotting with a double rope 22 fastened to the support 9. The head is supported by a rope 24 fastened to a buckle 23. Girthing consists of a back girth 24<1>, and a double rope 24<11> attached to the ring 30. The back hoof is held in an adjustable belt 27 tightening around the pastern and lifted bv a windlass 26 (Fig. 2), and the fore hoof is held in a similar arrangement carried by a rod 29 which is adjustable in the links of the chain 25. A small adjustable chain is fastened to this rest and to the back frame to prevent forward movement of the foot.
