Abstract

350,455. Superposed telephony and television. ELECTRICAL RESEARCH PRODUCTS, Inc., 195, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Gray, F. ; 243, West 101st Street, New York, U.S.A.) March 10, 1930, No. 7789. Convention date, April 30, 1929. Addition to 332,284, [Class 40 (v), Wireless signalling &c.]. [Class 40 (iv).] The whole or part of a picture current is modulated by, or combined with, a carrier wave of constant frequency to obtain a derived current, the frequency components of which are interleaved with the frequency components of other currents, e.g. telephone currents, as described in the parent Specification, and impressed with the other currents on a common transmitting circuit 200. A telephone transmitter 500, Fig. 2, and receiver 510 are connected to line through a low-pass filter 520 with a cut-off frequency of 2700 cycles, and, when the microphone is disconnected by a switch 501, a balancing resistance 502 is connected in circuit to maintain the circuit characteristics unchanged. At the receiver, Fig. 3, the telephony currents are separated by a low-pass filter 302 and the picture currents pass through a high-pass filter 301 to a television receiver.
