Abstract
350,126. Trunks. FAIRBROTHER, H., 30, Ludgate Hill, London.-(Kari-Keen Manufacturing Co., Inc. ; 7th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, U.S.A.) April 7, 1930, No. 11022. [Class 18.] A trunk formed with a double wall having soft pliable cushion-like material interposed between the two parts of the wall has the -inner side of the double wall provided with ribs or corrugations for strengthening purposes. The invention is described in connection with a trunk comprising a fixed section A to which is hinged at 10 a luggagecarrying section B, the part B being fastened in the open position by a pin 14 engaging in cooperating loops on members 12. The section B includes a double bottom structure C, comprising an outer part 16, separated from an inner part 18 by a sheet 20 of pliable material such as heavy tar paper. The inner part 18 is formed with ribs or corrugations for strengthening purposes. The edges of the section B are folded over to grip the pliable material to retain it in position. When folded into the dotted line position the section B forms the back wall and top wall of the trunk.
